The magic of Christmas in July is almost here! We are thrilled to share that the 2026 New Zealand Festival of Christmas programme is now officially live.
Whether you’re looking for charming free community events or exclusive ticketed experiences, there is something for everyone.
Illumination and the Festive Night Glow are the most in-demand experiences for 2026. If these events are on your list, it’s worth booking early to avoid missing out. Illumination - the immersive evening light walk - has an extended 10-day programme this year, following a sellout season in 2025. The Festive Night Glow is a brand-new one-off event on Saturday 18 July, with hot-air balloons inflated and set to music in the heart of Molewood Orchard. Both take place during the July school holidays, making them perfect events for the whole family.

Please note: Ruru the Morepork (our Festival Mascot) is exclusively included in the Little Elf Pack and will not be available for purchase during the Festival. All Festival Packs must be pre-ordered as they cannot be purchased during the Festival itself.
The VIP packs and pin must be collected from Greytown Art Gallery, 115 Main Street, during the festival from 26 June - 25 July 2026. Opening times 10.00am - 4.00pm.
