Harvest Moon – Highways, Heartaches & Harmonies
Saturday, 29 August 2026 | 7:30 pm
Wellington Americana band Harvest Moon returns to the Wairarapa for an evening of country, Americana and rich vocal harmonies at the Wairarapa Events Centre in Carterton.
The six-piece band has performed in the region several times before and is looking forward to reconnecting with one of New Zealand's most enthusiastic country music audiences.
Expect an authentic Americana sound created with guitars, pedal steel, accordion, banjo, dobro and piano, complemented by rich vocal harmonies. Harvest Moon draws inspiration from some of country and Americana's best-known artists, including Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Rodney Crowell and The Mavericks.
Fresh from a sell-out performance in New Plymouth and successful recent shows in Whanganui and Feilding, the band continues to win audiences with its outstanding musicianship, memorable songs and relaxed, entertaining performances.
If you enjoy great country and Americana music, Highways, Heartaches and Harmonies promises an evening of outstanding musicianship, familiar influences and plenty of good entertainment.

Discover Greytown Through Geocaching
Looking for a fun, inexpensive activity that the whole family can enjoy? Why not give geocaching a try?
Often described as a modern-day treasure hunt, geocaching uses GPS technology to help participants locate hidden containers, known as geocaches. Using nothing more than your smartphone or a GPS device, you can follow clues and search for caches hidden in interesting locations.
What began as a small hobby in 2000 has grown into a worldwide activity enjoyed by millions of people. It's a fantastic way to explore somewhere new, discover places you might otherwise overlook and spend some time outdoors.
Greytown is an excellent place to get started, with more than 80 geocaches hidden within a 5km radius. There's even one hidden just a short distance from ASURE Oak Estate Motor Lodge, and we often spot visitors searching for it. If you're planning a walk or bike ride along the trail, you'll also discover several caches along the way, making geocaching a great excuse to slow down and explore.
The best part? Getting started is completely free. Simply create an account, download the app and begin your own treasure-hunting adventure.
